One of the many great joys in life with your huskies is to enjoy mixing with other like minded people and other huskies themselves. One of the many ways this can be achieved is by working with your dogs in a rally or meeting of like minded people and dogs alike.
This is our second season with huskies but our first season working our three oldest dogs as they need to be at least twelve months old before you can work them.
The Rally season is from October until March the following year in th UK and is a great place to learn, pick up tips and have a generally great time with like minded people.
Our rally events this year have only been Scottish based so far but have included Dumfries & Galloway, Morayshire, Perthshire, Fife and the Borders.

Forest of Ae was a fantastic first experience for our kennel and Alba as usual was fantastic and full of energy for the task in hand.
Tentsmuir was an amazing experience and even the infamous Sand Dune area was not as bad as first thought.
Culbin is a flat and lovely area full of very nice undulating trails. We have been to Culbin on three occasions now as spectators, scooter racing and the three dog racing class.
Blackcraigs was more hilly and undulating than first thought. However, once you get over the shock of the first hilly climb it is a nice and rewarding trail. The part where you disappear into the trees overhead and a grassy
Black Isle was cold and wet on both days but was a nice trail to try out. We had a line tangle on the first day which took far too long to sort and cost us a lot of time in delays. The end of the trail was fanstastic as this was the highlight of the first day with a race to the line between our team and one of the other Samoyed teams. We had a loan of a dog called Heidi from Nige and Mel and she was great and a lovely little dog who helped us compete in our second rally. Heidi is now expecting a litter of seven puppies and good luck to her and all the puppies (Dec 2007)
Ford Estate trails were fantastic and very flat and full of twists and undulating areas. The trail itself for all events were in a fantastic condition and although when I was marshalling I was bitten by the dreaded midge many times were great to watch and experience the thrill of racing with 2-6 dogs in a team. On this occasion we were only entered for the Scooter class as we only had one dog old enough (12 months) to compete. Unfortunately I fell off on one of the last bends and bar skint knee only my pride was hurt. Needless to say the husky Alba was fine and unhindered by my fall.
