Kuckunniwi Kennel First Rally!
Well after nearly two years the Kuckunniwi Siberian Husky Kennel entered there first rally event with Alba at the SSHC Rally down at Dumfries & Galloway at the Forest Of Ae. We entered the Scooter class as all dogs entered need to be at least twelve months old.
Our alpha male ALBA after his first rally and winning at the event. We are all pleased for him as he shows a great character at all the events and enjoys the day which is what it is all about.
At the start of the race with Kurt and Gus to give a helping hand and a bit of confidence boosting for me as this was our first race.

Alba
did fantastic for being a young dog and a typical boisterous male to boot.
We are all very proud of him and look forward to many more meets where he
can show off his typical feat of lying down at the start of the race line.
Alba
on the second day just coming back from the finish line on the second day.
He was tired as I was on the second day but he did remarkably well considering
it was quite hot for running the dogs on that day. Many thanks to all for
the help in getting us to this point and still able to enjoy the moment.
Our Second Rally Event.
The Second rally event for us was the SDAS event at the Ford Estate just outside the town of Berwick-Upon-Tweed.

This
was a fantastic part of the country to have a rally. Being a nice chap I
offered to help out for the marshalling and got a great view of the entries
for the 6 - dog, 4 - dog and the 3 -dog entries. This course was a flat
course but with several turns and sweeping bends around the course making
it enjoyable but demanding at the same time.
We Have Our First Fall!
What a fantastic and fast course for our second Scooter event. Unfortunately on a sharp Gee bend Alba made it round but I did not. Still, my motorcycling days remembered I managed to survive the fall with a skint knee and hurt pride. Getting back on the scooter we finished fourth on the first day of the husky class.
The second day went similar but this time with no fall (thankfully) and we made up some time so slipped into third overall for the second day which was pretty good going for both Alba and myself.
Our First Show Event.
This was our first Open Show event at Moddiesburn and we entered Alba in the Novice Class and Taz in the Puppy Junior Class. Taz did fantastically well for his first show and behaved admirably coming in 2nd. Alba started off well then got a bit boistrous through the second part of the showing but nevertheless did well for his first show. Alba pulled off the 1st Prize for the Novice Class and both Alba and Taz got some extra sausages for there effort.
Our Third Rally Event.
For our third rally event we visit Morayshire and the Culbin Forest. The weather was cooler for a change which would suit the huskies and the trails would be longer and give some mushers something to think about.
Here
we are off on a fairly straight part of the trail with Alba working hard
and at a good pace as usual.
Here we are further down the trail still going well and at a good pace. This was a fantastic trail with nice long and windy stretches and was cool for the dogs as well.
Our Fourth Rally Event.
Here we visit Fife and the area of Tentsmuir near the sea. This was a rewarding and amazing course with the infamous Sand Dune part which I stupidly went around twice missing a Gee at the last cross roads. More on that later.....
Here
we are of on a fairly straight part of the trail with a slight up hill gradient.
Alba and Lulu are working hard and we are doing well for our first rally
using the rig. Thanks to Bruce Hall for a loan of Lulu she
is a real gem and has great pace for an old lady. Alba and Lulu seemed to
work well together and no issues whatsoever at this stage.
The picture below left shows Alba and Lulu strutting there stuff and working very well for there first time together.

Here
we are off on a fairly straight part of the course this time we took the
Gee and did not miss the Red Marker. This was a great experience
for all of us and instead of running 3.1 miles we ended up running 4.8 miles.
Still we get our pictures taken twice before and after the Freight Class :---). I had a mighty red face but we finished that is the main thing and everyone was in good health.
On the second day we took a whopping 8-10 minutes off our first days time and took all turns perfect well done Alba and Lulu. All in all for our first rally using the rig we all did fantastically well.
